Our wonderful parent/carer volunteers assisted with the cooking and serving of pancakes on Tuesday morning
On Tuesday the 13th of February, students, staff and parent/carer volunteers came together to celebrate Pancake Tuesday at St John's Primary.
Pancake Tuesday marks the day before the commencement of the Lenten season, which will continue until the 29th of March.
We would like to thank Belinda Murray, Josephine Sultana, Lisa Maggio, Alison Laurie, Sarah Fuller, Chloe Walsh, Jane Stanton and Jessica Stone who cooked, cleaned and served on the day; without such generosity, these events would not be possible.
Donations on the day raised an amazing $170.00 for Caritas Australia. Caritas shares the mission of the Catholic Church to serve the poor and to promote charity and justice throughout the world.
Overall, the day was a great success with students enjoying their pancakes to mark the beginning of Lent, and raising valuable money for a great cause.
Again, we would like to thank the staff and volunteers who worked to ensure that this event was possible.

This morning we celebrated our wonderful fathers with breakfast and open classrooms! 🥓🍳 Afterwards we had our Fathers Day Liturgy where we reflected on how grateful we are to God for such wonderful father figures in our lives. 🙏 Thank you to our wonderful staff for all the effort you put into making this morning possible! Last week, Stage 1 had an amazing time on their excursion to the Australian Pioneer Village in Wilberforce! They stepped back in time to discover what life was like in the past—exploring the old schoolhouse, water pump, police station, blacksmith shop, and so much more. The students especially loved tasting damper and enjoying a hay ride around the village!

Today 12 students had the privilege of attending the 2025 Kitchen Garden Expo! 👩🏻🌾🧑🍳 We are feeling so inspired to continue developing our garden beds at St John’s. We participated in a cooking challenge, explored the gardens of our host school and presented the great learning from our school. Our favourite part though, was enjoying lunch- which was cooked by all participating students. We enjoyed cooking and tasting fried rice, Korean pancakes, herb bread, spanakopita, fruit kebabs, vege wraps and rainbow salad. Take a look at some snapshots from our fabulous day! 🤩

Our Year 6 leaders proudly represented St John’s at the Diocesan Education Mass led by Bishop Vincent, followed by the Mission Outreach Expo. They confidently shared our school’s outreach and formation initiatives, including PJ Day, our Feast of the Sacred Heart Mass, the Winter Sleepout, and work with St Vincent de Paul. We are so proud of how they spoke with confidence to principals, clergy, and students from across the diocese, showcasing St John’s commitment to faith and service. 💙✝️
